APG Worm Gear Clamps offer an extremely cost effective alternative for a variety of reasons. First - they offer All Stainless Steel construction at a price that is cheaper than most competitive brands with carbon steel components. Second - APG market research determined that sales of worm gear clamps with 1/2" widths were predominatly in the smaller diameter sizes, and sales of clamps with 9/16" widths were predominatly in the larger diameter sizes. Consequenctly, as can be seen in the chart below, APG smaller diameter clamps have 1/2" widths, and larger diameter clamps have 9/16" widths. Additionally, the 9/16" clamps have a minimum range of 2-1/2". This allows these clamps to be utilized in ranges that overlap with 1/2" clamps (as can be seen in the hightlighted portion of the chart). Hence, the end user has the ability to select a width of 1/2" or 9/16" in this mid-range. These factors combine to eliminate the need for an inventory that includes clamps with carbon steel components as well as clamps that are stainless steel (stainless being preferable if the price is right). Also, the need for an inventory that includes clamps with widths of both 1/2" and 9/16". This allows an inventory with one worm gear clamp style as opposed to four styles. All clamps are stamped with the range in both millimeters and includes, the APG part number, and the APG logo.
